Maastricht

Last week I went for a 2-day trip to Maastricht. I really love this city with its superb ambiance, shops and good restaurants. So here are some tips: You can stay at the Townhouse Designhotel near the trainstation. For a good brunch or lunch you have to got to Bread & Delicious. For kids' stuff and freaky gadgets go to Kideku. In the former Dominicaner kerk (church) you will find a bookstore that is designed by architects Merkx + Girod. Do your fairtrade shopping at Dit is Waar, they also have tea from Mr. Jones. For sophisticated fashion shopping you have to got to the Stokstraat. And when you are tired you can rest a little at the Bisschopsmolen, they have the best 'vlaoi' (fruit pastry). In the evening you can have a good dinner at Witloof or de Perroen.
You can also try this walk, for shopping, eating and some ancient places of interest.
